In
a theater called “Planet Earth” I sit as a spectator
in a balcony seat less than the width of a canoe. With nothing below
me but the air we breathe, I become a witness to artistry created
by eons of change. Even though not far behind me looms a large wing
and two powerful engines, the feeling of serenity surrounds me.
The very simplicity of sitting there with barely enough room for
flight instruments and camera is enough of a force that bonds me
emotionally to the plot of the show.
